Today Peter decided to attempt a 3-D model of a Winslow-C. This is the home model we plan to buy in The Villages. Initially he was thinking of building it out of LEGOs, so we took a trip to The Mall of America to visit the LEGO store. After lots of looking and calculating, that idea was abandoned. It would be too hard to obtain exactly the right pieces needed in the quantity needed. Plus the scale seemed way too big. The model seemed ginormous.
On the drive home, he had me quickly exit on France to go to the Michael’s store. There he bought several panels of white corrugated plastic, some white duct tape, and some smooth foam. He spent the rest of the afternoon and part of the evening crafting the model with great success.
Over dinner we evaluated the three new Winslow-Cs posted on The Villages website and compared the prices with existing models for sale. While nice, none of these new ones would be for us. We are uncomfortable with the backyard abutting non-Villages land. There would be no control of what future development might go there. There is a nice block wall, but that wouldn’t suffice for us.
